Recognizing Dr. H. Denniston Crews

WNC Bridge would like to recognize outgoing board member Dr. H. Denniston Crews (Denny) for his dedication and outstanding contributions while serving on our Board for the past 14 years.

Born in Wauchula, Florida, Dr. Crews graduated from the University of Florida in 1956 and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1960. He completed his medical residency in medicine and nephrology at Vanderbilt University Hospital, followed by two years in the United States Air Force. Dr. Crews practiced in Asheville from 1972 until retirement in 2008.

WNC benefited from Dr. Crew’s knowledge and compassion in many ways, including his time as Chief of Staff of Mission Hospital and his service on several other boards, including Rathburn House.

Dr. Crews has been married to Kay McCabe Crews for 60 years and has five children and 12 grandchildren, which he shares is his finest achievement!
