Relief and Recovery

WNC Bridge Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved an initial $1.5 million in funding to support nonprofits and individuals in their immediate recovery efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene.

Currently, we have awarded $500,000 to the Emergency and Disaster Response Fund held at the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and in partnership with Dogwood Health Trust, which is positioned to grant smaller amounts to human service and community-based organizations throughout the region quickly. Criteria and an application are available on their website. Additional announcements from WNC Bridge will be made in the coming weeks to further aid in the recovery and rebuilding process.

We are deeply moved by the unwavering dedication of frontline workers, volunteers, and nonprofits—both locally and nationwide—who have come together to support our mountain communities during these unimaginable times. For their efforts, we are forever grateful.
