
NOW Grants – Hurricane Helene Relief Update
As of October 28, 2024, WNC Bridge Foundation has awarded over $700,000 in NOW Grants – Hurricane Helene Relief to 73 dedicated organizations. We are thankful to the people and organizations across WNC that are fueling essential recovery efforts across our communities. Examples of organizations that have received grants from WNC Bridge include:
Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County to provide childcare for the children of first responders—police, EMS, and safety workers shortly after Hurricane Helene.
Haywood Christian Ministry to deliver food to individuals impacted by the storm in Haywood County.
Operation Gateway to oversee disaster relief resource distribution and coordinate with families to access essential items like food, hygiene products, medical supplies, and FEMA assistance in Buncombe County.
The Center for Rural Health Innovation to expand the scope and hours of the existing telehealth access point at Tipton Hill Community Clinic in Mitchell County.
Yancey County Sheriff’s Office to purchase equipment for UTV, enabling the unit to reach inaccessible areas.
