Graham County Leaders Unite to Build Community Fitness Center

A group of county leaders have come together to continue the development of a new fitness center aimed at promoting health and wellness among residents. The initiative, driven by the collective vision of these leaders along with technical support from Partnerships Officer Sara Coplai, seeks to provide a state-of-the-art facility equipped with modern exercise equipment, group fitness classes, and wellness programs.

Residents have strongly backed the initiative, which has been a community hope for over a decade.

A feasibility study has been completed, and the financing details are being worked out this year with support from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s rural investment collaborative. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026 on county-donated land in the cleared area pictured behind the group below. The leaders are confident that this new facility will foster a stronger, healthier community for years to come.
