CLOSED: CASH SUPPORT FOR HELENE RECOVERY
We have met our goal of providing $2,200 per household in direct cash assistance to 639 households impacted by Hurricane Helene. Thank You! The campaign is now closed.
For individuals who successfully enrolled and have questions about their payment or trouble accessing the GiveCard platform, please email support@givecard.io for assistance.

WNC Bridge Foundation is partnering with GiveDirectly and Propel to provide direct financial assistance to households in Avery, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.
This campaign is made possible thanks to financial support from the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Dogwood Health Trust, and WNC Bridge Foundation.
We recognize that individuals and families are best equipped to determine their own needs. Rather than providing specific supplies, this campaign offers direct cash payments, allowing each household to decide how to use the funds for rent, food, repairs, or other recovery needs following Hurricane Helene.
You may qualify if:
- You live in Avery, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, or Yancey County
- Are 18 years or older
- Use the Propel App and receive SNAP benefits
- Have not previously received Hurricane Helene relief funding from GiveDirectly
- Individuals must be signed up on the Propel app by June 1st in order to receive notifications about the program and to apply once enrollment opens. If you’re not already using Propel, you can download it for free from the App Store or Google Play.
- Please note, funding is limited, and it’s first come, first served.
